- Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities, including creating orientation plans, delivering new hire training, providing facility tours to new hires, and carrying out initial employee set up activities as required.
- Maintain good employee relations with staff which includes walking the warehouse floor 2x per day; visiting Caledon 1x per week; attending monthly warehouse meetings for both locations
- Assist employees with attendance on Anatolia’s HRIS Ceridian Dayforce HCM for both salary and hourly staff
- Assist with recruitment efforts by updating job descriptions and other initiatives or tasks as assigned
- Process benefits enrollments for new hires after 3 months of employment and respond to employee inquiries about company benefits plan & RRSP plan; advise Benecaid & Manulife of employee updates including terminations, change of address, change of dependents, etc.
- Support the bi-weekly payroll process by ensuring scanning and electronic filing is completed by communicated deadlines all information required for payroll has been entered into applicable databases
- Coordinate appraisals at predefined schedules, including collecting and filing of all completed documentation, and monitoring and following up with management and staff as required to ensure the timely completion of reviews.
- Prepare and distribute internal correspondence including communications from management, newsletters, and updates to policies and procedures, information about company events, etc.
- Assist employees, management and the H&S Coordinator in identifying issues impacting health, safety and well-being, and proper use of PPE at sites through the coordination and execution of workplace inspections.
- Creating Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures, are created and up to date to ensure a safe, efficient and effective workplace; providing support to the learning & development function as required.
- Creating, monitoring, maintaining and reporting on monthly HR, H&S, and engagement KPIs with recommendations on how results can be further improved
- Maintain accurate and update-to-date employee records in Ceridian Dayforce, Laserfiche, Organimi (org charts), Survey Monkey, and manual employee files
- Accountability for quality, accuracy and adherence to work instructions with some discretion required when exercising duties within pre-determined limits and procedures
- Occasionally provide guidance to other staff as needed as related to HR policies, programs, and company requirements and assigned projects
- Assist with general employee questions/concerns; employee relations
- Perform other duties and HR projects as assigned
- Interactions with internal or external customers employing professional common courtesy, providing requisite and correct information along with straightforward support
- Demonstrated experience and ability working with moderately complex information as related to analysis, problem solving, and reasoning to perform job duties with effectiveness

- Demonstrated capability to provide guidance of limited complexity to other staff as needed in relation to the execution of job duties and assigned projects

- Post-secondary degree in human resources related field required; pursuit of HR designation preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity required, preferably from within a warehouse/distribution environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional level capability in use of desktop software (MS Office Suite, with focus on analytical skills in Excel)
- Previous experience with Ceridian Dayforce is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other departments while maintaining confidentiality, and apply creative problem solving effectively
- Capability to deliver a consistently high level of customer service to internal customers is required for the maintenance of optimized employee relations
- Demonstrated knowledge of employment standards and legislation, health and safety requirements, regulations, codes of practice and guidelines, and the ability to translate and apply these to a work environment
- Ability to work varying hours on occasion to support the needs of the business (multiple shifts)
- Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple projects/requisitions and capable of working in a matrix-reporting structure
- Most work is performed in a standard office environment with limited exposure to adverse conditions or health and safety risks
- Position requires low level of sustained visual attention, moderate manual dexterity on a regular basis with sitting at length
